Mr. Gayford has been a teacher with the Chicago Public Schools for several years. He holds an undergraduate in Special Education from Southern Illinois University. Added, Mr. Gayford has an advanced degree from Dominican University in Library and Information Science. As a teacher, he has worked in a classroom, library, technology center, and more.
Hobbies of Mr. Gayford include historical research, hiking, and camping. He has published one book and several articles related to the early history of Chicago. Currently, Mr. Gayford is apart of the Cook County Forest Preserve Trail Watch Team, and a Boy Scout Leader.
Mr. Gayford love animals. He currently has three cats (Grey Kitty, Maggie, and Bootsy) and a yard full of chipmunks (not Chip and Dale). In the future he is looking to adopt a dog and maybe a few more cats.
I am very excited about the 2016-2017 school year. I look forward to meeting and working with the students of Courtenay Language Arts Center. I have heard many excellent things!!!
